Biography


Fabrizio Spadea was born in Domodossola, Italy, on 10th October, 1966. He started playing self taught the piano at the age of eight and guitar when he was twelve.

At the age of fourteen he fell in love with jazz and at eighteen began studying professionally with the maestro Danilo Minotti. He then went on to refine his technique with Maestro Tomaso Lama.

Fabrizio participated in various seminars and workshops: Siena Jazz, Umbria Jazz, Cividale del Friuli, etc. before graduating from the conservatory G. Verdi in Milano. He has also been involved in several professional collaborations in festivals, exhibitions and theaters, working with some of the greatest exponents of the Italian and international jazz scene. He obtained the first and second level diploma from the conservatory G.Verdi in Milano with maximum marks.

Fabrizio has collaborated with Italian jazz musicians such as:

Ramberto Ciammarughi, Umberto Fiorentino, Massimo Manzi, Emanuele Cisi, Riccardo Fioravanti, Emilio Soana, Christian Meyer, Giampiero Prina, Andrea Dulbecco, and with great international jazz artists such as : John Arnold, Mike Mainieri, Larry Schnider, Greg Osby , Dave Liebman and Eddie Daniels. 

 He also collaborates with major Italian pop music stars, Diana Torto, Lucia Minetti, Amy Stewart, Anna Bacchia, Barbara Casini, Tosca, Antonella Ruggero, etc and performed on a theatre tour with Johnny Dorelli.

He recorded 5 albums with original compositions: “Private Dance”, “Easy Concepts”, “Catching Blues” (TRJ Record’s), “Tiempo Lento” (TRJ Record’s), “Algo Sobre Ti” (TRJ Record’s).

He recorded 3 albums with the composer pianist Roberto Olzer:

“Folk Songs”, “Cord & Chords”, Standpoint” with the bass player Yuri Goloubev (Caligola Record’s).

He participated in the recording of the album “Rain Makers” by Carlo Bernardinello with Mike Mainieri.

He has carried out an intense teaching activity teaching in the best Italian schools (C.P.M, Stayano Academy in Milan). He is now teaching privately.
